JOURNALS Keeping a journal is more than just a way to empty your brain of spontaneous babble. By writing down how you feel each day, you'll have an infinitely better chance of pinpointing foods that affect your moods and health. Try this: Make a note of when you have a bad night's sleep, when your stomach aches, when your head pounds, when you get cranky. Then check for patterns. If you almost always get a headache after drinking red wine, it might be time to switch to white. If coffee keeps you up, consider drinking green tea instead. Bottom line: A daily entry takes minimal effort, but the payoff could be big.
